A coating of zinc in a binding of chromate. It also contains Teflon so is self-lubricating. The resultant chain is heat resistant to 280°C and corrosion resistant enough to pass a 400 hours salt spray test. Unlike galvanised chain, hydrogen embrittlement is not possible.
